Trolling

 

= making an unsolicited or controversial comment (usually on the internet) with the purpose of provoking an emotional reaction from unsuspecting people to engage in a fight or argument

 

Ex:  After I responded to the rude post,  I realized I was being “trolled,” and ignored the rest.

Ex:  The person “trolling” you doesn’t really feel the way they are saying.  They are just trying to get you to respond.
