= 1) (for people/ animals) to get very tired, to be exhausted

Ex:  After running the marathon he was “worn out,” and he had no energy left.

 

Ex:  My dog has a lot of energy, so I like to chase him until he “wears out,”  and goes to sleep.

   2)  (for objects) to use so much that it becomes useless.

Ex:  My old jeans are “worn out.”  They have many holes and rips, so I should buy new ones.

Ex:  I’ve driven the same “worn out” car for 15 years.  I need to buy a new one.
