Standout = exceptionally good *IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a little different than the phrasal verb, stand out. “Standout” is used as a noun or adjective Ex:  He was a “standout” athlete and student.  So he got a college scholarship. Ex:  At the food contest, the “standouts” were the homemade ravioli and the barbeque chicken.
