– Syllables are separated by hyphens (“-“)

 

 

– Stress on a syllable is indicated by capital letters

Ex:   pronunciation =  prə-NUN-see-AY-shən

 

 

–  ∂  = unstressed central vowel

Ex: mom  = məm
