Give Someone the Benefit of the Doubt

= assume someone is innocent until proven otherwise, think the best of them instead of the worst in a situation

Ex: Other people say she stole the money, but I want to “give her the benefit of the doubt,” until I see real evidence that she stole the money.

 

Ex:  I know I may be naive to always think the best of people, but I like to “give them the benefit of the doubt” when others feel they did something bad.
