Fall For

Fall For

 = believe something or someone in a gullible way

(Basically, believing something to be true or real, but in reality it’s not.)

synonyms = tricked, fooled

 

*IMPORTANT NOTE:

This is different than the verb, “to fall.” and the season, “fall.”

Ex: You don’t expect me to “fall for that story.”  It’s obviously not true.

Ex: My friend “fell for the internet scam” and sent a lot of money to a fake prince in Nigeria.

= to fall in love with someone

Ex: I “fell for her” the moment I met her,.

Ex:  I normally “fall for brunettes” more than blondes.
